United Meat & Deli (UMD) was incorporated in 1982. The name “United” is derived from the unification of two previous packing concerns.  UMD’s purpose was twofold: the manufacture/production of corned beef, and the distribution of meat and deli products to the local food service industry.  UMD was located in the Eastern Market section of Detroit until 1993, when it moved to its present, larger facility on Hubbard.

Sy Ginsberg and Scott Mendelsohn are the sole owners and operators of United Meat & Deli. Through the years, their goal has remained constant: to provide the food service industry with the highest quality meat and deli products, backed by unparalleled customer support and service.  Through this commitment to quality and service, UMD has earned the loyalty and business of many well-known food service operations nationally.
